Tribute to Mary Helen – R Y Deshpande
Dear Narad
I was extremely sorry to know the passing away of Helen. These are things about which we cannot do anything. She was suffering for quite some time and we are altogether helpless in the matter. But we must respect the decision of the departed. It must have been a conscious decision of hers in the Mother's consciousness. Therefore her repose is in the Mother. She will take care of her in every respect and there is no doubt regarding it.
Your note. I am thinking of putting it in Mother India as soon as possible. I take that it is all right for you. Please remain in the secure arms of the Mother to do her work, particularly the work of Savitri with which Helen was also associated. It could of course be dedicated to her. I feel that the Mother will have approval for it.
Sincerely,
R Y Deshpande
Addendum:
Narad,
Here is the shloka I mentioned to you yesterday, the Gita, 8:5, Sri Aurobindo's rendering and an explanation:
Whoever leaves his body and departs remembering me at his time of end, comes to my bhava (that of the Purushottama, my status of being); there is no doubt of that . . .
"The divine subjective becoming on which the mind has to be fixed firmly in the moment of physical death, must have been one into which the soul was at each moment growing inwardly during the physical life."
